Discover how Advanced Tracking delivers reliable connectivity across France, on land and at sea.

“Wanscale brings connectivity together in one integrated solution.”

Advanced Tracking is a well-established specialist in communication systems for the maritime sector in France. As a Wanscale partner and distributor, the company can offer its customers greater assurance when it comes to secure, reliable connectivity, both at sea and on land. All available connections are brought together and managed within a single solution.

Christophe Allan, founder and Managing Director of Advanced Tracking, sees significant opportunities. He is also seeing growing interest in the Wanscale solution among his customers.

It’s all about connectivity

“For our customers, it’s all about connectivity,” Christophe explains. “How that connection is technically established isn’t important to them. Whether it’s via satellite, 4G/5G, Wi-Fi or a fixed connection, they simply want to be securely connected at all times.”

At sea, that is far from straightforward. “Our maritime customers want to stay connected wherever they are in the world, whether they are aboard a sailing yacht or a motor yacht. They need access to their files and the ability to work reliably. A single connection isn’t always enough to achieve that. And, of course, they also want to be sure their data traffic is properly secured.”

Wanscale brings different connectivity technologies together within a single, centrally managed and secure environment. If a connection fails or its performance deteriorates, Wanscale automatically switches to an available alternative. The result is a resilient network that is less dependent on any single provider or technology.

From maritime connectivity to solutions on land

Christophe first met Jos Beckers and Fouad el Hajjaj of Wanscale several years ago during the Tour de France. The three entrepreneurs immediately connected.

“Jos and Fouad told me about the development of a platform that could bring different connectivity solutions together and manage them from a single environment. Their vision and entrepreneurial approach appealed to me. I immediately saw the opportunities this could offer our customers.”

Wanscale distributor in France

The entrepreneurs stayed in touch. Since then, Wanscale has continued to evolve, and Advanced Tracking has become a Wanscale distributor in France.

“We are initially offering Wanscale to our customers in the maritime sector,” Christophe explains. “At the same time, we are so enthusiastic about its capabilities that we see this as the starting point for expanding our services on land as well.”

He sees a clear need there too. “France has many rural and remote areas where good connectivity cannot be taken for granted. For businesses in these regions, reliable connectivity is just as important as it is for our customers at sea.”

One solution, one point of contact

According to Christophe, Wanscale’s strength lies in its combination of continuity, security and simplicity.

“Customers value simplicity. They don’t want to organise separate contracts, equipment and management environments from multiple providers themselves. They just want their connection to work. Wanscale combines available connections, such as fixed internet, 4G/5G and satellite, within a single solution and automatically switches between them.”

The network can be managed remotely, while data traffic can also be secured centrally. This makes it possible to monitor and manage connections, locations and equipment from a single online management environment.

“The fact that all of this can be managed from anywhere in the world, with a single organisation as the point of contact, really appeals to our customers,” Christophe concludes. “The conversations we are having now clearly show that there is strong demand for such a complete and easy-to-manage solution.”

Why reliable connectivity at sea can literally be a matter of life and death

For superyachts, connectivity isn’t just about comfort. Sometimes, it is literally about safety.

If a crew member requires medical assistance or a technical problem requires urgent support from shore, you need to be able to rely on communications being available. Stable connections are also essential during everyday operations for real-time weather information, navigation, managing onboard systems and maintaining secure contact with shore.

In practice, many yachts therefore rely on a range of connectivity technologies:

  • Starlink for high-speed data;
  • Iridium as a global backup connection;
  • 4G and 5G networks when close to shore;
  • Wi-Fi networks in marinas.

Each technology comes with its own hardware, subscriptions and management environment. This makes managing connectivity complex, costly and prone to errors.

One platform instead of a collection of separate solutions

That is why Advanced Tracking takes a different approach.

With Wanscale, all available connections are brought together within a single, centrally managed network.

This enables Advanced Tracking to:

  • automatically switch between Starlink, Iridium and mobile networks;
  • provide a secure private Wi-Fi network on board;
  • encrypt communications using secure VPN connections;
  • remotely monitor and manage the complete installation;
  • significantly reduce the amount of equipment and cabling required.

For the owner, what matters is simple: staying connected without having to think about which technology is being used at any given moment.

“Our customers don’t want to know which connection is active. They want to be able to trust that everything simply keeps working. That is exactly what we can offer together with Wanscale.”
