Car dealer
A car dealer with seven branches in the Netherlands uses various systems, which is due to selling multiple car brands.
The main application they use is the Dealer Management System, which is hosted in a data center where they have rented rack space.
Due to the fact that almost every car brand has its own specific applications, a diverse application landscape has emerged.
Dealer Management System
The client uses a central and brand-independent Dealer Management System (DMS) for all branches, which is utilized for financial administration, sales, leasing department, and after-sales.
When this system is unavailable at any branch or department, nearly the entire company comes to a standstill.
Datacenter
To ensure continuity of the Dealer Management System, this application runs on its own VM cluster in the data center. The DMS is maintained by a third party that has both physical and remote access.
Automotive branche
In the automotive industry, a lot of data is exchanged electronically. This includes tasks such as deregistering vehicles for inspection (APK), releasing vehicle registration, querying vehicle information, and ordering spare parts. Without data communication, an automotive company comes to a complete standstill.
Telephony
The company extensively utilizes fixed telephony through a cloud PBX. All fiber optic connections used are equipped with an additional virtual circuit to ensure the quality of voice calls.
Our solution
Wanscale has provided all locations with redundant Service Edge and subsequently linked them to its platform.
The data center location is connected via DC Connect, allowing all employees at the various branches to access the Dealer Management System.
The complete management of both hardware and software is handled by an external automation party. This party leverages the fact that the Wanscale platform uses Multi Tenancy, enabling the ICT partner to take full responsibility for management while allowing certain tasks to be delegated to the end user.
Since implementing the Wanscale platform, the client has experienced significant improvements in network performance and availability of the DMS. Intelligent routing of all network traffic has reduced annual downtime and increased productivity across all locations.
The simplification of network management is perceived positively by the externally hired IT partner, as they do not always require experienced network administrators to make adjustments to the network.
