Crematorium
A crematorium, located at two sites in South Netherlands, uses redundant fiber optic connections to connect to the Internet.
Since the COVID period, the crematorium has developed a new service allowing people to attend a ceremony remotely from their computers.
At present, the service is still offered but is exclusively used by individuals who are unable to attend the crematorium in person.
Attend a ceremony remotely
A ceremony such as a cremation is an important moment. It is a time to honor the deceased for their contributions to life.
It is a unique moment that cannot be replayed. That is why it is of utmost importance that all connections through which people outside can view the ceremony are guaranteed to work at that time.
If the video connection is not available during the ceremony, it damages the organization’s reputation.
Memory
To enable viewing of the crematorium service at a later time, all ceremonies are recorded. All recordings are made using Vimeo and stored in the cloud.
